Samsung Unveils Next-Gen Foldables at Galaxy Unpacked 2025: Introducing Z Fold 7 & Z Flip 7 with Enhanced AI

On July 9, 2025, tech enthusiasts around the globe tuned in to Samsung’s eagerly awaited Galaxy Unpacked event. Hosted in Brooklyn, New York, the event saw the unveiling of the next generation of foldable smartphones.

The spotlight was on the Galaxy Z Fold 7, a significant evolution in Samsung’s foldable phone range. This device boasts of being Samsung’s thinnest foldable phone to date, measuring a mere 8.9mm when closed and 4.2mm when unfolded. This marks a substantial 26% reduction from its predecessor.

Not just slim and sleek, the Z Fold 7 is also a powerhouse in terms of camera capabilities. It features a massive 200-megapixel main camera sensor, bringing Ultra-series photography prowess to the foldable lineup. The device is driven by the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy processor, ensuring 38% faster processing, 26% smoother graphics, and a 41% boost in AI performance.

Unveiled alongside the Z Fold 7 was the Galaxy Z Flip 7. This device impresses with an edge-to-edge 4.1-inch cover display and an improved battery life. In a first, Samsung also launched the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE, a budget-friendly alternative designed to make foldable technology more accessible to a wider audience.

The new devices come pre-loaded with Android 16 and One UI 8, offering enhanced AI capabilities. These include advanced photo editing tools and improved Galaxy AI integration.

Pre-orders for these cutting-edge devices have begun, with general availability slated for July 25, 2025.
